jongrauer.com 2009 NFL POOLS

WEEKLY POOL

This is the traditional "Office Pool". A participant picks the winner of each week's games "against the spread". The participant who picks the most winners is the winner of that week's Pool. In the event of a tie, a tie-breaker is used. The tie-breaker is the total number of points scored by both teams in the last game of the week, usually the Monday night game. The contestant whose tie-breaker selection is closest to the actual total points scored in the game is the winner of the tie-breaker.

FEE

The cost to play the Weekly Pool is $17.00 for the season. You may elect to enter the Pool "for the fun of it", and not pay the fee. However, only paid participants are eligible for prize money.

PRIZE MONEY

The weekly prize money is dependant on the number of paid participants in the Weekly Pool. It will equate to $1 times the number of paid participants in the Pool.

ANNUAL POOL

This Pool is the same as the Weekly Pool except there is no weekly winner or payout. The Pool winner is the participant who has the best winning percentage for the entire season. In the event of a tie, the winner will be the participant who picks the most winners for the season. Each participant must submit an entry for a minimum of 15 weeks of the 17 week season. This rule allows a participant two "off weeks", and still be eligible for prize money.

FEE

The cost to play the Annual Pool is $10 for the season. You may elect to enter the Pool "for the fun of it", and not pay the fee. However, only paid participants are eligible for prize money.

PRIZE MONEY

The prize money is dependant on the number of paid participants in the Annual Pool. It will equate to $6 times the number of paid participants in the Pool.

SURVIVOR POOL

The premise of the pool is simple: A participant picks only one team, straight up each week. If they win, they move on to the next week. Once a participant picks a team, they cannot pick that team again. A participant is allowed one loss. He/she is eliminated with a second loss. The pool continues until only one member is left.

FEE

The cost to play the Survivor Pool is $10 for the season. You may elect to enter the Pool "for the fun of it", and not pay the fee. However, only paid participants are eligible for prize money.

PRIZE MONEY

The prize money is dependant on the number of paid participants in the Survivor Pool. It will equate to $10 times the number of paid participants in the Pool.

SPORTSBOX POOL

This Pool is the traditional 100 square matrix, most commonly used for Super Bowl Pools, and is contested weekly. A participant will choose one square at the beginning of the season. He/she will retain ownership for that square for the entire season. The Pool will be based on the last game of each week (usually the Monday night game). If no participant has the winning square in a given week, the prize money for that week is carried over to the next week's Pool. In order to insure a winner for the last week's Pool, in addition to a participant's regular square, the computer will randomly assign an equal number of squares to each participant until the matrix is filled.

FEE

The cost to play the Sportsbox Pool is $17 for the season. You must pay the fee to participate in this Pool.

PRIZE MONEY

The weekly prize money is dependant on the number of participants in the Sportsbox Pool. It will equate to $1 times the number of participants in the Pool.
