Milwaukee jumped on top of Chicago in the 3rd inning plating an isolated run utilizing 2 base hits. Milwaukee totaled 13 on the afternoon. The victory was credited to Spahn(20-10) who went the distance, allowing 3 runs. Bob Rush(11-16) was given the loss. He allowed Milwaukee 7 runs in 6 innings of work. ST. Smith was next and he stroked a single. Eddie Kasko then tripled plating two runs. Cincinnati was out-hit by St. Louis, 14 hits to 5. The victory went to Vinegar Bend Mizell(7-12) who went 8 and 2/3 innings, allowing 2 runs. Don Gross(10-6) was the loser. He surrendered 8 hits and 1 walk in 6 innings.
