Ernie Banks enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He doubled in the 4th inning, rifled a three-run blast (his 34th of the season) in the 7th inning and doubled which plated a run in the 8th inning. Chicago rapped out 12 hits for the afternoon. The victory went to Drabowsky(15-6) who went the distance allowing 1 run. Bud Podbielan(0-2) was charged with the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 6 and 2/3 innings of work.
