Covington had a big day at the plate. He lashed a single scoring a run in the 1st inning, banged out a one-base hit in the 3rd inning and belted a three-run homer (his 18th of the season) in the 7th inning. Milwaukee had 14 hits for the game and Cincinnati had 7. Gene Conley(10-5) got the win allowing 2 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings. Brooks Lawrence(10-9) was tagged with the loss. He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 6 and 2/3 innings of work. The Milwaukee ballclub's record now stands at a league leading 79-49. With the loss, Cincinnati has a record of 3-7 lately, 72-57 overall.
