St. Louis had 2 runs cross the plate in the 7th inning. Lindy McDaniel(9-10) got help from Merritt who pitched great and earned his 7th save. Stu Miller(5-7) took the loss. The St. Louis ballclub's record now stands at 63-57. With the loss, New York has a record of 5-5 lately, 60-63 overall. It was a good day for Brooklyn thanks to Roseboro. He hit a bases-empty home run in the 4th inning, stroked a single which scored a run in the 5th inning and popped a two-run clout over the fence (his 3rd of the season) in the 7th inning.
