Chicago had 4 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 5th inning with the help of 4 hits. The key at-bat was by Walt Moryn who came through for the home fans when he bombed a two-run dinger (his 17th of the season). Chicago managed 12 in their victory. Bob Rush(7-13) picked up the victory, allowing 2 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings. Bob Anderson got the save, his 1st. Joe Nuxhall(11-6) was the loser. He pitched 8 innings allowing 12 hits and 1 walk.
