Warren Spahn(13-9) had a steady outing. He went 8 and 2/3 innings surrendering 13 hits and 2 walks. Cincinnati had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short. Don McMahon was credited with his 5th save. Hal Jeffcoat(11-7) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 11 hits and 1 walk in 7 and 2/3 innings. Moe Drabowsky(11-6) absorbed the loss. 'Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals' said Bob Scheffing after the game. 'We lost this game today because we didn't follow the instructions every Little Leaguer hears every day.'
