MILWAUKEE AT CINCINNATI Braves.......... 1 0 1 0 0 0 0 2 0 - 4 13 0 Redlegs......... 0 0 5 0 0 0 0 0 - 5 8 0 Win:Nuxhall(11-5) Loss:Burdette(8-10) Save:Freeman(9th) Homeruns- H.Aaron(22nd) One run was the difference at Crosley Field as the Cincinnati Redlegs defeated the Milwaukee Braves 5 to 4. Cincinnati did all of it's offensive work in the 3rd inning as they scored 5 runs on 5 base hits. That early scoring was all that Joe Nuxhall(11-5) needed. Milwaukee threatened in the 9th but Cincinnati was able to put down the rally. Hersh Freeman recorded his 9th save. Lew Burdette(8-10) was tagged with the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 5 hits and 2 walks in 2 and 2/3 innings. 'It's a disheartening loss, no question about it' said Fred Haney 'But we have to get over it and get ready for the next game.'
