Taylor was a one-man wrecking crew. He smacked a three-run homer in the 2nd inning and rifled a three-run blast (his 2nd of the season) in the 8th inning. Cincinnati had 16 hits for the game and Chicago had 10. Hal Jeffcoat(11-6) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 and 1/3 innings and allowing 3 runs. Dave Hillman(4-6) was given the loss. St. Louis was unable to claim the lead after Milwaukee went ahead in the top of the 4th inning plating an isolated run. Eddie Mathews drew a walk. Hank Aaron followed and he ripped a base-knock. Wes Covington followed, but he was set down on strikes. Bob Hazle stepped in and he hit a deep fly scoring the run. Milwaukee had only 5 hits for the night. Spahn(12-9) allowed 1 run on the game. Von McDaniel(4-2) was tagged with the loss. The winning ways continue for Milwaukee. They now have a record of 8-2 in recent days. With this loss, St. Louis has a 6-4 record of late, 57-52 overall.
