Cincinnati fell behind quickly as the Chicago offense came through in the first inning when they tallied 3 runs on 5 hits. Overall Chicago out-hit Cincinnati 16 to 9. The win went to Jim Brosnan(3-4) who allowed 5 runs in 7 innings. Brosnan was helped out by Dick Littlefield who recorded his 4th save. Vicente Amor(1-1) absorbed the loss.
