New York scored the deciding run in the 8th inning. Daryl Spencer delivered a one-base hit. After an out was recorded, Valmy Thomas came up and he laced a base-hit scoring the run. Thomas took second on the throw. New York banged out 12 on the afternoon. The victory went to Johnny Antonelli(7-7) who went 8 innings, allowing 6 runs. Marv Grissom got the save, his 14th. Ernie Johnson(8-2) took the loss in relief. He pitched 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 6 hits and no walks. The New York ballclub's record now stands at 48-49. With the loss, the Milwaukee ballclub's record is 58-39. Neither team managed to score after the 1st inning. Conley got help from Ernie Johnson who was credited with his 8th save. Curt Barclay(4-8) was the loser. He surrendered 2 runs and 6 hits in 6 innings.
