NEW YORK AT MILWAUKEE Giants.......... 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 - 1 6 0 Braves.......... 0 0 0 0 0 0 2 0 - 2 8 2 Win:Buhl(12-7) Loss:Crone(6-7) Homeruns- W.Mays(19th) Bob Buhl completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Milwaukee Braves defeated the New York Giants by the score of 2 to 1 at County Stadium. Milwaukee scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning when they had 3 base hits. The highlight belonged to Buhl who came through for the home fans when he doubled plating two runs. The game was a scoreless duel until the 7th inning. Buhl(12-7) allowed 1 run on the game. The losing pitcher was Ray Crone(6-7). He surrendered 7 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings. No one has been able to stop Milwaukee lately as they lengthened their winning streak to 6 games. Repulski really lit it up for Philadelphia. The Chicago fans let him have it for what he did to their boys. He stroked a single in the 4th inning, cleared the bases with a Grand Slam homerun (his 13th of the season) in the 5th inning, banged out a one-base hit in the 7th inning and doubled bringing in two baserunners in the 9th inning. Philadelphia managed 12 in their victory. The victory was credited to Haddix(5-9) who went the distance, allowing 1 run. Jim Brosnan(2-3) took the loss. His biggest problem was control as he allowed 7 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings. Haddix, when asked about his 12 strikeout performance noted, 'The important thing is that we won, if I get 20 and we lose, what good does it do our team? But, on the other hand, since we won it feels great!' PITTSBURGH AT ST. Dickson(7-6) simply dominated Pittsburgh. He gave up just 3 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings improving his ERA from 2.39 to 2.18. St. Louis had a total of 7 hits for the game. Bob Purkey(4-12) absorbed the loss. He allowed 6 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings. The win went to Johnny Klippstein(11-4) who allowed 3 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings. Danny McDevitt(0-6) was hit with the loss. He was unable to control the Cincinnati offense and allowed 8 hits and 5 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
