Antonelli(6-7) looked very much in control throughout the day. He didn't give up much, just 6 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings. Chicago had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short. Don Elston(1-7) suffered the loss. He allowed 3 runs and 5 hits in 8 innings. Milwaukee scored the deciding run in the bottom of the 8th inning. Johnny Logan doubled. After an out was recorded, Conley came up and he drew a walk. Schoendienst then ripped a base-knock, and an error was also committed, scoring the run. The Philadelphia batters went down meekly in the 9th. The winning pitcher was Conley(4-4) who allowed 6 runs for the game. The loss was charged to Seth Morehead(2-2) in relief. Both teams were tied at 5 runs apiece after nine innings. Finally, Cincinnati pulled the game out in the 11th inning. Wally Post led off and he doubled. After an out was recorded, Gus Bell came to the plate and slapped a one-base hit bringing in a run. Robinson then popped a two-run clout over the fence (his 17th of the season) resulting in a mighty exciting win for Cincinnati and the 19,290 home town fans in attendance. The game was a wild affair with the lead changing hands 6 times. Don Gross(8-4) got the win allowing no runs in 1/3 of an inning. Nellie King(3-6) was the loser in relief.
