In the 2nd inning Milwaukee went on top for good scoring 3 runners on 2 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Frank Torre who brought a roar from the partisan County Stadium fans when he tripled plating two runs. Milwaukee had a total of 11 hits for the game. Burdette(5-7) lasted until the end allowing 3 runs for the win. Dave Hillman(3-3) took the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 7 runs in 2 innings. CINCINNATI AT ST. Walker Cooper then hit a deep fly giving St. Louis the victory and sending the 29,790 home-town fans home happy. St. Louis ended up with 13 hits for the game while Cincinnati had 10.
