Antonelli(4-5) delivered a fine performance for New York. He surrendered 8 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings. Cincinnati threatened in the 9th but New York was able to put down the rally. Don Gross(7-4) suffered the loss. He allowed 5 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings. PHILADELPHIA AT ST. St. Louis tallied 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning with the help of 3 hits. The big moment was provided by Joe Cunningham who electrified Sportsman's Park when he doubled scoring two baserunners. Philadelphia had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short. McDaniel(2-0) finished the game allowing 2 runs in the victory. Jack Sanford(5-7) was the losing pitcher. He pitched 7 innings and surrendered 8 hits and 3 walks. Bobby Morgan stepped up next and he hit a single. After an out was recorded, Ernie Banks stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk to load the bases. Walt Moryn was up next and he singled plating a run. Dale Long got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim. Neeman added his contribution to the rally and delivered a single driving home another two teammates. Chicago banged out 11 on the afternoon. The win went to Dick Drott(4-4) who allowed 3 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings. Jim Brosnan got the save, his 2nd. Bob Purkey(4-8) ended up with the loss.
