PHILADELPHIA AT MILWAUKEE Phillies........ 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 - 1 5 1 Braves.......... 0 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 - 2 5 0 Win:Spahn(8-4) Loss:Morehead(2-1) Warren Spahn carried a no-hitter into the 7th inning at County Stadium as the struggling Philadelphia Phillies lost a heartbreaker to Milwaukee Braves by the score of 2 to 1. The game was decided in the bottom of the 9th inning. After two were out Eddie Mathews tripled. Hank Aaron stepped up to the plate and he was walked intentionally. Andy Pafko then ripped a base-knock giving Milwaukee the win much to the delight of the home town crowd. Both teams ended up with 5 on the night. The win went to Spahn(8-4) who allowed 1 run in the game. The left-handed Spahn lost his no-hit bid when Ed Bouchee singled with nobody out in the 7th inning. Seth Morehead(2-1) took the loss in relief. BROOKLYN AT ST. Brooklyn came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning scoring 2 runs using 3 hits. After an out was recorded, Gino Cimoli kicked off the action when he laced a one-base hit. Charlie Neal next to the plate and he smacked a single. Sandy Amoros dug into the batters box next, but he struck out. Carl Furillo was up next and he banged out a single driving in a run. Jim Gilliam came to the plate and reached on an error. Sam Jones then uncorked a wild pitch scoring the final run of the inning. Brooklyn won despite being out-hit by St. Louis 12 hits to 8. Ed Roebuck(5-3) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Clem Labine earned the save, his 11th. Jones(7-2) was the losing pitcher. Fred Hutchinson was not very talkative after his team's tough loss. 'I'm not in the mood for questions, but I'm sure Walter Alston will be glad to talk about the game as long as you have questions to ask.'
