In the 2nd inning Milwaukee scored 3 runs when they had 3 base hits. They would be enough to earn the win. Chicago had a chance in the 9th but they came up short. The win was credited to Bob Buhl(5-2) who went 8 and 2/3 innings allowing 3 runs. Ernie Johnson earned his 4th save. Don Kaiser(1-3) was the losing pitcher. 'We won because we did the little things right.' Fred Haney said after the game. 'This is why we practice things over and over and over, so when we get in close games we don't make mistakes.'
