Rush(2-4) gave a fine effort for Chicago. He was reached for 7 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings lowering his ERA to 2.89. Chicago managed 14 in their victory. Ruben Gomez(3-5) was hit with the loss. He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings giving up 5 hits and 2 walks. Milwaukee came up with the deciding runs in the 8th inning with 2 runs utilizing 3 base hits. Johnny Logan started the inning off right when he laced a single. After an out was recorded, Del Crandall stepped up to the plate and he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run (his 2nd of the season). Despite losing, Philadelphia out-hit Milwaukee 10 to 6. The win went to Burdette(2-4) who allowed 3 runs in the game. Robin Roberts(2-6) suffered the loss. He pitched 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 6 hits and no walks. 'I was a little good, a little bad and a little ugly.' said Burdette, 'I was just giving us a chance to win.' He went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 4 hits and 4 walks reducing his ERA from 3.10 to 2.48. Neither team managed to score after the 4th inning. Sandy Koufax(0-2) was the losing pitcher.
