The key offensive moment was provided by Harry Anderson who deflated the spirits of the home town crowd when he doubled scoring two baserunners. Philadelphia had a total of 9 hits for the game. Seth Morehead(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 1 inning. Morehead got help from Turk Farrell who earned his 3rd save. Jim Davis(1-1) was hit with the loss in relief. Mayo Smith was very happy after the game, 'It's great to come back and win it in your last at bats! Our guys just wouldn't give up. And did you see the fans - one minute they're laughing and screaming down all sorts of unprintable stuff at our guys - the next minute - SILENCE! Yes sir, a very enjoyable win tonight!'
