Lawrence(3-1) was in control of the game from the outset. He didn't allow much, just 5 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA to 2.23. Cincinnati had just 6 hits for the afternoon. The loss was charged to Bob Rush(1-4). He pitched 7 innings allowing 5 hits and 3 walks. MILWAUKEE AT ST. The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings. Finally, Milwaukee pulled the game out in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Hank Aaron started the attack as he slapped a single. Mathews followed and he doubled, and an error was also committed, knocking home two runners. One out later, Chuck Tanner stepped up to the plate and he smashed a solo-shot out of the park (his 1st of the season). Milwaukee took care of St. Louis with no trouble in the bottom of the 10th. Ray Crone(1-2) went 4 innings allowing no runs for the win. Lloyd Merritt(0-1) was given the loss in relief. He was knocked around, surrendering 4 runs in 3 innings.
