Unlike the 1954 season in which the Brooklyn Dodgers had to defeat the Philadelphia Phillies in a playoff to win the Championship, the Dodgers made it two in a row by walking away with the 1955 Title, finishing a staggering 22 games over the 2nd place New York Giants. The Cincinnati Redlegs gave notice of things to come with their 3rd place finish, only 1 game out of 2nd place.
